World of Warcraft is a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game with millions of players spread across the world.

In 1994, Blizzard released an RTS title called Warcraft: Ors and Humans. This game would spawn several sequels over the span of the next ten years before finally transitioning into the MMORPG that soon became the world's best.

One of only a handful of negatives about this game is that it requires a subscription and active internet connection to play. Once you've installed the game, you must visit Battle.net in order to create an account and buy a subscription. Once you've done that, you'll be given a username and password to enter when you launch the game.

When you first login, you'll select a server, or realm, and create your own custom character. What you decide at this point will affect how you play the game. For example, if you choose to play as a Mage, which specializes in offensive magic, you're going to have a very different experience from someone playing a Priest, who focuses on healing the group that protects him.

If you decide to enter a PVP server, you'll have to deal with the possibility of attacks from other real players from the opposing factions of the World of Warcraft. The Alliance, which tends to represent the positive side of the conflict, battle the Horde, which tends to represent the negative.

Your character will be dropped in an appropriate city per your faction, and from there you have the freedom to explore the huge open world filled with quests, friends, enemies, and more. You can freely talk to other players to learn more about the game or simply chat, and you can travel as far as your level allows.

The primary objective of the game is to raise a character to the maximum level. In the original version of World of Warcraft, the max level was 70, but it has since been raised many times and will be over 100 with the release of the next expansion. You increase your level by completing quests and by killing computer-generated monsters. As you increase in level, your stats will increase proportionately. You'll also start to find better equipment more suitable for you newfound strength.

Players who are careful with their spending can save up the in-game currency to buy premium items reserved for those at the highest levels. These might include special weapons or flying mounts that let you roam the world with much more freedom. When you reach the highest levels, you'll be able to enter dungeons and raids, and these elite quests are designed with such difficulty that it takes a group of 40 players in perfect harmony to finish them.

World of Warcraft features some of the most entrancing graphics you'll ever experience. Since the game is fully open-world, the landscapes are captured in expressive detail that lets you know you could really go there. There are numerous climates and terrains to explore, like sprawling desert plains, overgrown jungles, and ice-peaked mountains.
